– Lead Energy Engineers, Cincinnati and Minneapolis

Graphet Data Mining is considering applicants for Lead Energy Engineer. This position requires 5-8 years of experience in corporate energy planning, manufacturing/facility engineering, energy auditing, or related areas. Our Leads take a highly technical, hands-on, consultative approach to deliver fact-based insights to our customers. 


  • 5-8 years of post-graduate, relevant experience
  • A mechanical, chemical, electrical, or facilities engineering degree at the bachelor level; Master’s degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of various industrial and commercial systems, including process heating/cooling, steam/hot water, refrigeration, HVAC, lighting, manufacturing systems
  • Knowledge of various building controls systems
  • Understand the driver of energy consumption and elements that could reduce consumption
  • Experience conducting energy audits for manufacturing facilities
  • Experience analyzing energy consumption and performing energy modeling for systems and buildings
  • Ability to use conventional engineering tools and drawing programs
  • Experience developing models in one or more statistical packages like Matlab®, SAS®, SPSS®, R, RATS®, Stata®; able to understand and interpret modeled results

Graphet’s Lead Energy Engineers apply data mining and modeling techniques to evaluate energy-related project that reduce energy costs and improve energy efficiency while facilitating energy management objectives for industrial and commercial customers. The goal is to enable fact-based decision making among on-site energy management teams.   • Complete customer projects involving data collection, analysis, visualization, and modeling using strong technical engineering skills
  • Deliver insights to customers, using your ability clearly communicate highly technical information
  • Own primary responsibility for interfacing with customer teams throughout project
  • Lead project teams consisting of field engineers, subject matter experts; coach team members to successful completion of tasks
  • Apply sound engineering principles and experience in combination with our proprietary data mining toolset to uncover insights and opportunities for customers

– Energy Engineer Analysts, Cincinnati

Graphet Data Mining is considering candidates for Energy Engineer Analysts. This is an entry-level role, suited to professionals with 0 – 4 years of experience. This role is part of our Efficiency Consulting Services team that is responsible for successful project execution and value we delivered to our customers. Using sound engineering principles and our proprietary data mining toolset, your team will process and mine data about energy intensive systems and uncover opportunities for savings. Solutions developed by your team will be presented to customers to influence decisions made for energy management. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BS/MS in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
  • Energy data analysis and energy audit methodology implemented at sites
  • Energy usage calculations related to mechanical systems at a facility: HVAC, compressed air, ammonia refrigeration, process heating and cooling, pumping, or lighting
  • Familiarity with energy simulation modeling tools and their application for buildings and systems
  • Generating simplified technical drawings of mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems
  • High level of expertise with Microsoft Office suite is required and knowledge of statistical concepts and use of Matlab software are preferred
  • Vocabulary and clarity in conveying technical audit findings to a broad audience in an engaging, succinct manner
  • Personal initiative, leadership, resourcefulness and ingenuity for solving challenging technical project assignments
  • Positive, high-energy, can-do attitude for achieving team outcomes

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, perform, and support onsite data collection, energy audits, and operation assessments
  • Evaluate utility billing and usage trends, analyze energy data, and evaluate energy baselines
  • Identify energy conservation measures using data mining and modeling techniques
